South University OTA students are back and will be providing individual Occupational Therapy sessions for children with Down syndrome at GiGi’s Playhouse from July 15- September 6, 2020. Sessions will be by appointment only and will run in one-hour time spots from 9am-4pm Wednesday-Sunday.
Session Dates: July 15 through September 6, 2020
9 am – 10 am = 2 participant spots available
10 am – 11 am = 2 participants spots available
11 am – 12 pm = 2 participants spots available
1 pm – 2 pm = 2 participants spots available
2 pm – 3 pm = 2 participants spots available
3 pm – 4 pm = 2 participants spots available
Parents will be required to fill out an intake sheet and provide some medical information. Your child will participate in an initial screening, where the students will assess their skills and deficits in the areas of fine motor, gross motor, sensory, reflexes, strength and self care. Goals will be created using the information from the screening and input from the parents. In order to participate please bring a recent physical and sign up on our website. In order to accommodate as many participants as possible, please limit sign-ups to one spot per day. We will be following CDC guidelines in order to keep participants safe. All participants will be required to wear a face covering, have their temperature checked and answer a short questionnaire upon arrival at the playhouse.
