Sensory-Friendly Day of Discovery at the Florida Aquarium
September 25 @ 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Cost: $10Event Navigation
This sensory-friendly day is hosted by The Florida Aquarium in partnership with the Center for Autism & Related Disabilities (C.A.R.D.)
Join us for a special Sensory-Friendly Day at The Florida Aquarium during our next Day of Discovery—a unique, adaptive evening designed specifically for individuals with sensory differences and their families. This inclusive event offers a welcoming space for those who benefit from a quieter, calmer environment to explore the wonders of the ocean without the usual crowds and stimulation.
Day of Discovery features a modified aquarium experience tailored for guests with autism, sensory sensitivities, or accessibility challenges. To create a supportive environment, attendance is limited, and select sensory triggers—such as flashing lights, loud sounds, and special effects—are reduced or removed entirely. This thoughtful approach ensures that every guest can comfortably enjoy exhibits, interact with aquatic life, and make lasting memories alongside their loved ones.
Whether it’s a new experience or a familiar favorite, this sensory-friendly day invites families to engage with marine science and conservation at their own pace, in a setting designed just for them.
