Friends of HUG
Friends of HUG is an awesome social group designed specifically for adults with disabilities. Hosted by the nonprofit Help Us Gather (HUG), this group brings people with disabilities together to enjoy inclusive, in-person events that foster friendship, community, and belonging. Our mission is to make sure no adult with disabilities feels left out or isolated — and our events are always free for both the participant and one guest.
Every month, Friends of HUG hosts free accessible events across the Tampa Bay area. Past outings have included attending Tampa Bay Rays games, bowling nights, movie screenings, visits to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, and many other fun adventures. Each event is designed with accessibility in mind, creating a space where everyone can feel safe, accepted, and free to be themselves.
We understand that many adults with disabilities often struggle to find social opportunities or feel disconnected from their communities. That’s why HUG’s events focus on creating joyful, judgment-free environments where adults with disabilities can build real friendships, boost confidence, and simply have fun.
All adults with disabilities are encouraged to join us and bring along a friend, family member, or caregiver. If you or your guest needs special accommodations, please don’t hesitate to contact the HUG team before the event.
