6TH ANNUAL F.R.I.E.N.D.S. BUDDY WALK!
DATE: October 22, 2022 Saturday
LOCATION: AL Lopez Park – 4810 N Himes Ave, Tampa, FL 33614. There is a 1.2mile path, Playgrounds, Nature Trail, & Fishing Ponds.
TIME: 10am-2pm
YOU’RE INVITED: Open to all Down syndrome & Special needs individuals, their families, & friends, teachers, professionals, & the public.
REGISTRATION: $10/person June-September and increases to $20/person the month of October/Event Day
All individuals with Special needs & Children under the age of 12yrs are free, but they must register to receive the free t-shirt, tattoo, wristband, medal, and noisemaker. Register on https://www.ds-stride.org/friendsbuddywalk
Those who register will receive a Free Buddy Walk T-shirt, Buddy Walk Temporary Tattoo, and Awareness Wristband. Our Buddies will receive a wonderful Buddy Walk Medal, FRIENDS Cow Bell, or BamBam Noisemaker!
T-SHIRT PICKUP – You can pick your T-shirts up at our Halloween Dances!
- October 7th at the Holiday Inn & Express in Clearwater, 7-9pm. 2580 Gulf to Bay Blvd. Clearwater, Florida 33765; Corner of Hwy 19 & Gulf to Bay Blvd.
- October 15th at the Hilton Garden Inn in Riverview, 7-9pm 4328 Garden Vista Dr. Riverview FL 33578; On the corner of Hwy 301/Hwy 75
MEET – Our Tampa Mayor Jane Castor and Tampa City Councilman Luis Viera
ENTERTAINMENT: DJ Mark Girdwood, The Project Free Band, Dynasty Youth Dancers, and Rungo Dancers, The 501st Star Wars Legion Villains & Heroes, Costumers with a Cause Prince & Princesses, Face Painting, Bouncy Houses.
FOOD: Food Trucks, Free refreshments.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: You will receive 8hrs of service time, a free Volunteer T-shirt, a Down Syndrome Awareness bracelet, and free breakfast, lunch, and snacks. LOG ONTO: https://www.ds-stride.org/friendsbuddywalk
AWARDS: 12PM Thank you, our Top 5 Teams, & Largest Team.
ADVOCACY WALK: 1PM The path is 1.2 miles, take water, wear sunscreen and ring those cow bells.
