Hillsborough County is an inclusive community with programs and classes for adults, teens, and children with special needs including, but not limited to, Autism, Asperger Syndrome, Down Syndrome, Tourette Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and all Cognitive, intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as individuals with physical disabilities. . The county offers adaptive sports programs in the Tampa Bay area through the Hillsborough County Adaptive Sports Program including archery, adaptive basketball, bowling, cycling, golf, swimming, track & field, sit volleyball and others. They also offer competitive adult wheelchair basketball and football teams that hold open try-outs. Special Olympic sports are also offered and include basketball, bowling, bocce, cycling, flag football, swimming, and volleyball, as well as Girl Scouts.
